Student Instructions

RU OK? Day is a day to remind ourselves to check in with our friends and family and ask how they are going. We don't have to be an expert - it's about listening and offering support if they need it. Tap the picture and watch a short video from the RUOK? website, showing how to start a conversation with friends. Then click add In the speech bubbles, use label to write your own ways to start a conversation, if you notice your friend is not their usual self. You can use mic to add your voice, if you'd like to speak your support too. Click check when you're finished. 💛Extra: chat with your family and friends about the idea of RUOK? Day, and encourage them to check in with each other, their friends and extended family.

RU OK? Day started in Australia in 2009 and occurs every year in early September. Further information is available on the RUOK? website, including educator and workplace resources, videos, merchandise and links to get further help. Please visit www.ruok.org.au After completing this task, the student responses could be printed and displayed in classrooms and school corridors to prompt other students into starting conversations too. For an on-site event on RUOK? Day, ask students to chalk speech bubbles and conversation starters onto walkways throughout the school.
