This week our spelling pattern is Irregular Verbs. 1. Click on the to watch the video: Irregular Verbs | Learn to Write 2. Use the template and match the Present tense Verbs to the correct Past tense Verb.
An irregular verb is one that does not form its simple past tense or its past participle by adding "-ed" or "-d" to the base form. Irregular verbs contrast with regular verbs, which form the simple past tense and past participle by adding "-ed" or "-d." Student Game: Irregular Verb Ball Toss 1. Choose an irregular verb and say the base form out loud. 2. Say the name of a student and toss the ball to them. 3. The student must catch the ball and say the past form. 4. That student then chooses another verb and repeats the steps above. 5. Continue until all the students have had a turn or two.
