The main character in 'Eyes That Kiss in the Corners' learned to love herself and her eyes by noticing what eyes say about people. What do your eyes say about you? What do the eyes of people who love you tell you? 1. Tap Add Response. 2. Use the drawing tools to draw the eyes of some who loves you very much. 3. Tap the speaker to read and complete the sentence frame, "My ______'s eyes tell me ____________." 4. Use the photo tool to take a picture of your eyes. 5. Tap the speaker to read and complete the sentence frame, "My eyes tell ________ that _____________." 6. Tap the green check to add to your Journal.
Overview: Assign this activity as a follow-up to Seesaw's I Love to Read Month virtual author event with author Joanna Ho. Mrs. Ho read her book, 'Eyes that Kiss in the Corners' and students learned about the message of loving yourself by noticing what eyes say about people. In this activity, students will notice what their eyes say about themselves and what the eyes of someone who loves them say. How to Use This Activity: Model this activity for students before assigning it. Example sentence frames: "My eyes tell my sister that I care about her." "My mom's eyes tell me that she loves me."
