Student Instructions

1. Click link to hear the story, What Kind of Bird is That? 2. Click add You will create a mixed up animal. 3. Click on link to play a game to get ideas. 4. On a piece of paper, draw your own made-up animal using many different body parts from many different animals. Use photo to add your picture. 4. Click mic or photo/video to explain how the different body parts of your animal will help that animal survive. 5. Click check to submit to teacher.

NGSS LS.1.A. Animal Structures This a great fiction book to talk about biomimicry and the importance of different animal body parts in different environments. A good follow up is to use the book The Hoppameleon then have students create a name for their mixed up animal based on its parts.
