Student could complete this activity using the digital ink, however it can get pretty muddy looking pretty quickly. So I recommend using labels. The ink might be helpful for adding in some basic illustrations, but emojis can always be considered for that purpose as well. Students can get creative with their emoji ratings. While I think the same emoji looks best for the rating scale, students might want to mix up the emojis to show different aspects of the book.
