Student Instructions
Look carefully at the six pages demonstrating how to solve for area using formulas. Imagine this is class work, and you are copying from the whiteboard! You need to COPY SIX SLIDES into your Maths book. Neatly draw each shape with a pencil on paper, and copy down the working out for each shape. This will help teach you what to do when you solve these types of questions on your own. There are three optional slides too. If you choose to do these in your maths book too, you will need to choose the correct formula (there are two to choose from) and apply it to the shape. Success criteria (Things I need to do to be successful): 1. Copy NEATLY. Colour coding your work might help. 2. Use a RULER for the shapes. 3. When you copy the working out, make sure you LINE UP THE EQUALS SIGNS vertically, as shown. 4. Set it out on the page. Never squash up your geometry work because that makes it look messy and you will be more likely to make errors. Click and or to upload photos of your work.
