Plan a family meal together. What will you make? 1. Create a menu and a shopping list. (Older children can write the list and estimate how much they think each item will cost.) 2. Go to the store together or pull things from your cupboard. Talk about how you select the right ingredients and have older children keep track of the cost of items as you add them to your shopping cart or put them on the counter. (It is a great opportunity to estimate and round to the nearest dollar.) 3. 💲Calculate the total cost of the meal and then talk about how you would calculate the cost per person. 4. 🍳Make your meal together. 5.
