Student Instructions
Today you will practice a special kind of breathing called slow breathing. It can help you settle the Hubbub and feel calm and peaceful. Let’s learn how! 1. ▶️ Click play on the Mind Yeti audio session. Follow along with the guided instructions. 2. 🍜 Take a moment now to practice the slow breathing again. Imagine you have the hot soup bowl in your hands as you breath the smell of the soup in, and blow out to cool the soup down. Try a few more breaths. 3. Click Add Response. 4. Use the template to draw yourself breathing in or blowing out to cool off the soup. You can use the label tool to add words to your picture to help you remember how to practice slow breathing. 5. Click the green check to add to your journal. 👍🏼 If you have a printer at home, try printing out your picture and put it up somewhere to help you practice the slow breathing. Family Why: Mindfulness helps children manage stress and work through it more quickly. Mindfulness practice—even a few minutes a day has health benefits. Research suggests that mindfulness can increase one’s ability to focus, calm down and connect positively with others.
