Do you understand the vocabulary of computing and modern digital life? Vocabulary is the collection of words we understand and use correctly. Can you explain the meaning of these computing words and put them in context? In this activity, your challenge is to speak like an expert. The words used in this activity are from previous learning topic, without hesitation or repetition, doesn't just promote retrieval practice. It also exercises crucial speaking and listening skills. You must choose a bronze, silver and gold term to explain. Drag & Drop using the words then, use the to record your explanation of each computing word.
The retrieval practice process helps pupils (and their teachers) to identify gaps in learning. This is often known as metacognition: an awareness of what you know and what you don’t know (or can’t remember). Retrieval practice involves students recalling something that they've learnt in the past (a reasonable time after the topic has been initially taught to them) and bringing it back to their minds.
