Create a special handshake with a family member! 1. 🗣 Pick a family member to create a handshake with. 2. 🤝 Start simple by holding holding hands. 3. 🗣 Take turns adding movements to the handshake. For example, you may squeeze your family member's hand two times. Then fist bump. Add noise like a clap or snap. Add some body movements. Keep adding and practicing until you both have it memorized! 4. Tap Add Response. 5. Use the Video Frame to show your new handshake! 6.Tap Check to add to your journal. Challenge. Can you teach all the members of your family your new handshake? Why: Having special traditions as a family boosts a child's sense of self worth, confidence, and happiness. These meaningful connections help children navigate both school and the world around them. Special handshakes also allow children to practice coordination, sequencing, and memory.
