Symphonic Poems: Danse Macabre

Grades: 5th Grade, 4th Grade, 3rd Grade
Subjects: Music

Student Instructions

1. A Symphonic Poem is a story told through music. In a symphonic poem, there is usually no narrator or words, but the music is written in such a way to depict specific events or to create a story you can see and follow in your mind. Danse Macabre was written to tell the tale of a graveyard and a yearly Halloween party put on by the skeleton residents there. It's meant to be spooky, but in a fun way too. Read the packet attached (or follow along with the recording) that explains all the parts of the song. 2. Watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSNTkiL8O5k 3. Select add .
