3 Artifacts of Summer!

Grades: 4th Grade, 5th Grade, 6th Grade
Subjects: Social Studies, Writing, Character Building

Student Instructions

Imagine this: Archeologists are trying to figure out how fifth graders spent their summers WAY back in the ancient times of the year 2019. Please create a collage that represents an archeological "dig-site" of your summer. 1. Bring in three artifacts (item or image) that share about you and your summer. 2. Do not tell any of your classmates about your artifact (yet). 3. Be prepared to explain why made these choices. (But do not add any text or audio hints... yet!) 4. Finally, (at home or together at school) create and post a collage of these artifacts. Take a look at my example! Note: • Any images must be owned (and ideally taken) by you. • Seesaw now has tools that allow you to include multiple images, as well as backgrounds and objects! • A strong artifact often contains story-worthy moments and inspires curiosity.

Goals and Curricular Connections: The most obvious goal of this activity is to build class community by sharing artifacts of personal experiences from the summer.
