This activity was originally created by Liz Cheslock at the 2025 ISTE Showdown! Teachers can adapt the activity to higher students by duplicating the 10 frame to be up to 20; then equations can show addition 0-20 along with showing groups of 10 for beginning place value practice. Teachers that need to have practice for those students needing 0-5 practice can use a 5 frame instead to show addition equations that equal up to 5
