The Aboriginal flag was designed The flag is by Harold Thomas in 1971. It is divided into two equal halves. The top half is black, this symbolises the Aboriginal people of Australia. The bottom half is red, this symbolises the earth and the spiritual relationship Aboriginals have with the land. The circle in the middle is yellow to symbolise the sun, the giver of life. 1.
