Student Instructions

Jesus of Nazareth was a master storyteller, and many of his most well-known teachings were told as parables. But these stories were designed to do much more than simply "teach." Jesus said the parables were designed to both reveal and conceal his message about the arrival of God's Kingdom. He told these to his disciples and followers to share the good news and to follow in God’s way. We can find approximately 30 parables in the Gospels of the Bible. Our gospels are - Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Tap add Watch and listen to Parables of Jesus video where you can explore the main themes in Jesus' parables and understand why he used them as the primary vehicle for his message. Reflect and think about a story that you know that had a message behind it. What was the name of the story? What was the message? Tap label to write your reflection or tap mic to record your reflection.

Teacher Notes (not visible to students)

A parable is a story that Jesus told. He told these to his disciples and followers to share the good news and to follow in God’s way. We can find approximately 30 parables in the Gospels of the Bible. Our gospels are - Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Every parable has a lesson for us to live out in our daily lives. However not everyone hears the message when they hear the stories from Jesus. How lucky are we to have these stories from Jesus to read and inspire us to show our Faith in Action.
