Student Instructions
1. Grab a rubber band! 2. Tap the to watch a video showing how rubber bands can be used to learn about vibrations, sound, pitch, force, and volume. 3. 4. First, let's see what you know about vibrations and sound. Use the tools to cross out the pictures on page that produce sound by vibrating. 5. Now let's review our important science sound words with a poem/song on page 2. Learn about sound, vibrations, pitch and volume. 6. Use your rubber band to conduct your own sound experiment and complete the sentences on page 3 with the tool. Sentence 1: fill in if your rubber band is big, medium, or small in the first blank and thick or thin in the second blank. Sentences 2 and 3: fill in high or low in the blanks. Sentences 4 and 5: fill in loud or soft in the blanks. 7. Use the tools to create a scientific drawing about your experiment on page 4. Draw your rubber band. Add lines to show the vibrations. Add labels for both and a title. 8. Check your scientific drawing using the rubric on page 5. Use the tools to put a check or X where you think your drawing fits. 9. Check your work. 10. 11. Add to your Communication folder.
