Can you pick up a piece of ice using some string? For this experiment you will need; *3 bowls *Ice cubes *String *Salt *Water First watch the Then have a go at carrying out the experiment yourself 1. Put a piece of ice into the bowl, and try to pick it up with your string. 2. Add most of your ice into the bowl of water, placing your string on top of a piece of ice, sprinkle some salt over the string. 3. Count to 60 and then count to 30 for good luck. 4. Try to pick up the piece of ice with your string ( make sure someone has a camera to take a picture). 5. If it doesn’t work straight away, try adding a little more salt and count again. 6. Click and upload your picture to Seesaw. 7. Can you think of a reason why the salt might help the ice stick to the string?
