Student Instructions
1. Click on the button. 2. Look for the hidden eggs. 3. When you find an egg, use the tool to uncover it (move away the thing on top of it.) 4. Use the tool and count all the eggs into the basket. 5. Click on the green to save your work to your journal. Simplify: * Have your child find the eggs and put them in the basket. Model the numbers or say them with your child to help them count the eggs. * Have your child find and move the eggs while you count them to give them exposure to the number sequence. * Instead of counting, see if your child can name the colors of the eggs. Extend: * As your child uses number words, ask what number comes before or after the number they just said. * Provide simple math problems by asking how many eggs there would be if somebody ate 1 or if somebody gave you 2 more. * Have your child identify the most dominant color of each egg. Learning Opportunities: Math 3 yr.1.1: Count to ten by ones. Math 3 yr.1.2: Recognize that numbers have a known sequence (for example, “1, 2, 3, 4, 5. What comes next?”). Math 3 yr.1.5: Begin to develop an understanding of the relationship between some numbers and quantities by using one-to-one correspondence.
