Characterization is a literary device that is used to highlight and explain the details about a character in a story. In its beginning stages, the writer introduces the character. After introducing the character, the writer then talks about his behavior. As the story progresses, the reader becomes introduced to the thought-processes of the character. In the Giver, we have learned a lot about some important characters, using the information in chapter 8 on page 78, label the image with characteristics Jonas is said to have. Give examples of these characteristics from the story.
