1. Cut out your fact family triangles. These are on pages 1,2,3,9 & 10 in your math journal. Or, you can print them out here, or make your own on spare paper. 2. Take a look at the numbers and symbols on each triangle, and answer the following questions: a) Looking at the numbers and symbols on each card, why do you think they are called fact families? (Think specifically about the word family...how are these numbers related?) b) Why do you think there are both multiplication and division symbols on each fact family card? c) How do you think you use these fact family cards? d) One number on the fact family cards has a black dot above it. Why do you think this number has a dot, and the other numbers don't?
