1) Choose a mixed number between 1 and 5 2) Model this using playdough as food (e.g. 2 1/2 pizzas) 3) Choose a whole number between 2 and 6 (e.g. 3) 4) Model this using playdough as people (e.g. 3 people or 3 mermaids) 5) Choose where the story will happen (e.g. a picnic in a park) 6) Draw the location on a whiteboard (this will the background image for your animation) 7) Write a math problem using this situation. (e.g. there are 2 1/2 pizzas that need to be shared EQUALLY with 3 mermaids. How much will each mermaid get?) 8) Take many photos of each step of your math solution, showing the beginning, middle and end. 9) Animate your photos into a video using an app like Shadow Puppet Edu (iOS) or PowerDirector (Android). 10) Record your voice narrating the math problem and how you would solve it. 11) Finally... upload your narrated video here in SeeSaw.
