Teacher Notes (not visible to students)
This activity reviews partitioning shapes into equal parts and naming simple unit fractions (1/2, 1/4, 1/8). Use the matching and sorting pages to check vocabulary and recognition. The coloring pages (Frame tasks) let students demonstrate partitioning and equal shading. For partner work, students can compare drawings and explain why parts are equal. Minimal prep: plain paper, crayons, and scissors for optional hands-on folding. High-quality open-ended answers should: 1) use fraction words correctly (half, quarter, eighth), 2) show equal parts in drawings or photos, and 3) explain reasoning briefly (e.g., "I shaded 1 of 4 equal parts so it is 1/4"). Accept explanations that use words, drawings, or voice recordings. Grade open responses as correct or incorrect based on these criteria.
