Welcome to Day 3 of our Potato Commonwealth Games. There are two events today - Running and Lawn Bowls Event 4 - Running 1. Place your first potato at the top of the ramp on the starting line, let the potato roll down. 2. Using a tape measure, measure the distance between the bottom of the ramp and where the potato rolls. 3. Record results in the table 4. Repeat for your second potato. NOTE: One turn each for each heat. There are 3 heats IMPORTANT: Disqualification if you push the potato down the ramp! 5. Who received the gold and silver medals? Record their name and the best distance they rolled. Event 5 - Lawn Bowls 1. Join another coach and their potato athletes. 2. Mark a starting line and place a marker at the opposite end (about 1-2m apart) 3. Coaches take turns to roll their athletes as close to the marker as possible. Your aim is to get the lowest score. The closest will get 1 point, the second closest will get 2 points and so on. 4. Play 4 rounds and add up the total score. Use the working out space as needed 5. Who received the gold and silver medals? Record their name and the total score. 6. Interview one of your athletes.
