Sometimes characters in books treat other characters in ways that surprise us, perhaps because it's not how we would have treated someone in real life. This surprise might be a good thing (because the character acted with kindness or bravery or thoughtfulness) or a bad thing (because the character was selfish or mean or rude). Find a spot in the story "Watsons Go to Birmingham" where a character surprised you. Notice how the character is treating another character. What would you tell that character? Using notes, drawing, or picture, write the advice you would give that character. Based on your advice, what might you learn from this story?
