This activity was designed with a third grade standard in mind. The students are learning about adding fractions to a number line. This is a great activity for review, independent work, small groups, math rotation stations, enrichment, and/or remediation. 3.NSF.3 Develop an understanding of mixed numbers (i.e., denominators 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10) as iterations of unit fractions on a number line. Denominators included in this activity are 2, 3, and 4.
