Before reading the story discuss what the story might be about and what the the blurb heading means: ‘You don’t have to be big and brave to find your roar’ listen to the story here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lp5x7pQ-DUE After reading the book discuss: Can you think of a time when you have overcome your fears? How did you feel? What was the outcome? What advice would you give to others? The mouse realises that “if you want things to change, you first have to change YOU.” What does this mean, do you think? Activity Mind map words to describe helpful thinking. talk about these with an adult Challenge: use a thesaurus to find interesting vocabulary ( http://www.kidthesaurus.com/) Use the template below to either trace, draw or print, then inside the mane write positive words that will help you to overcome difficulties, decorate using your favourite colours and trace over the words in a black pen. Find a place in your house to stick up your poster. This will be a good reminder that you are brave and and can achieve so many things :)
