Valentine's Day Animal Card

Grades: 2nd Grade, 1st Grade, Kindergarten
Subjects: English Language Arts, STEAM, Character Building

Student Instructions

You will make an animal themed Valentine's Day card to send to all of your classmates. Think about an animal you would like to create out of hearts like. Look through the examples in this activity for some ideas, but you can make any animal you want. Simply use the heart shape like found in your tools shapes to make your animal. Change the sizes and colors of the hearts like to make the parts of your animal. Once your animal is finished, add a background. Then add a speech bubble comment with a kind Valentine's Day message. Last, write your name on your card to let your friends know who made it. When you have finished, click on the green check mark check to send your card to me. I will send it on to all of your classmates for Valentine's Day.

Teacher Notes (not visible to students)

Animal cards can be made out of paper if Valentine's Day cards are able to be passed out. This year, we are looking for a way for students to send cards to both in person and remote classmates. Once the cards are sent to the teacher, screen shot them. Use the screen shots to create a class "book" activity and fill the pages with the cards. Then, send the activity out to all of your students so they get a Valentine from each class member. Depending on the size of your class, you may need to make more than one "book".
