Student Instructions

Today you are to construct an airplane out of one piece of paper. We will call this airplane The Dart. You will begin this activity by watching a Mystery Doug video about flight. You have a one-hour time limit and will make 4 different modifications to your plane. Be sure to record your results and your modifications. Directions: 1. Click link to watch the Mystery Doug video. 2. Click add to add this activity to your canvas. 3. Follow the basic directions on how to make the airplane. 4. Use the label to list all the materials you used to make the Dart. 5. Fly your prototype one time and measure how far it flew in feet. Use the label tool to record the measurement in the chart. 6. Make one modification at a time and fly the plane with the modification. Measure how far it flew. Use the label tool to record the distance flown in the chart. Make a total of four modifications. (you may need to make a new prototype, depending on the modification you make) 7. Use the label tool to complete the Reflection box. 8. Add a photo of your plane to the second page of this activity. You may also include a video your experiment if you so choose. 9. Check your work! Have you completed all the required boxes? 10. Click the check button to turn in this activity. We can't wait to see your planes and learn about your modifications!
