Repeated reading builds fluency, oral language, and reading comprehension. Students can practice reading the same passage multiple times to increase overall reading ability. Suggested scaffolds for ELLs: -Assign appropriate texts based on independent reading and English proficiency levels -Pre-teach vocabulary and background knowledge -Include a recording of you reading the passage as an example, so students can refer to it if they get stuck.
