LI: I am learning about translations of two-dimensional shapes. SC: I can explain that translation if moving a shape up, down or side to side. I can explain that translation does not change a shape’s appearance in any way. I can describe translations of two-dimensional shapes. I can identify the effects of translation by sliding two-dimensional shapes. I can use digital technologies to investigate translation. 1. Review the information on translation. 2. Watch the Bitesize video explaining translations and reviewing lines of symmetry and rotational symmetry. 3. Play a game of Tetris where you will use geometric transformations to create full shapes and rows. 4. Level choice board. Students choose the starred level that is challenging for them. Each star increases the difficulty of the tasks.
